Privacy

Email headers and bounce messages can contain personal data, routing data and internal system details. Email Fault Finder is designed to minimise what leaves your browser.

Local parsing

The bounce message decoder runs in your browser. Pasted bounce content is not uploaded to our server and is not sent to an AI provider.

DNS lookups

DNS-based checks send only the domain name and requested record type to our DNS lookup endpoint. For example, checking example.com for SPF and _dmarc.example.com for DMARC.

No AI processing of pasted content

The public MVP uses deterministic rules and browser-side parsing. It does not send visitor-submitted email headers or bounce messages to AI services.

Future features

If an AI explanation feature is added later, it should be explicit opt-in and should redact email addresses, IP addresses, message IDs and internal hostnames before any external processing.
